Non-irritating formula contains no colors, odors, steroids or antibiotics and is Non-Toxic.
The solution is steroid-free and antibiotic-free with no added dyes and is completely safe for use around the eyes. With no odor and no sting upon application, administration is a breeze. Pecking sores (also known as Feather pecking) and are the result of a behavioral problem that occurs most frequently amongst domestic hens raised for egg production. Feather pecking occurs when one bird repeatedly pecks at the feathers of another. The levels of severity are recognized as gentle or severe. Gentle feather pecking is considered to be a normal investigatory behavior where the feathers of the recipient are hardly disturbed. However, in severe feather pecking, the feathers of the recipient are grasped, pulled at and removed. This is painful for the receiving bird and can lead to trauma of the skin or bleeding, which in turn may lead to cannibalism and death. Birds are attracted to the redness that arises from the trauma and hence the behavior is exacerbated. Banixx for CHIXX, while not being a behavioral solution, will upon application (as a poultry injury teatment), turn a red, inflamed area into a pink (non-inviting area) and accelerate tissue repair. Separation of birds is generally recommended until the injured chicken is healthy, however, this behavior may continue when the bird is returned to the flock.
